The days of the hard sell on Social Media are long over (thank you universe). People simply won’t connect with brands who talk about themselves or their products all the time.
People now want an emotional connection to a brand. They want to know the brand is human and shares their values. People also want useful information that they can use in their lives.
So when on social media, do not sell, tailor your content so that it tells a story, a story that your audience will want to hear and show them how what you have can improve their lives.
A few trends stand out when telling your story and building your brand.
One of the top trend is that company leadership have an active and discuss current events. A recent survey shows that 92% of people want their CEO to speak out on controversial issues.
32% of consumers online would be happier to buy from a brand where the CEO is active and transparent on Social Media. 38% of consumers say that having the leadership of a brand active online would increase their loyalty to that brand.
Another survey shows that 57% of customers would increase their spend with a brand when they feel connected to that brand. 76% of these customers said that they would buy from that brand as opposed to a competitor.
It is important to remember how your brand was started and what it’s vision is. If your mission is to empower women, then tell your story of how you empower women, if your mission was to improve people’s health, then tell your story of how your brand help’s improve people’s health.
